about

The track is an expression of expectation towards women: long hair, high heels, motherhood, fulfilling your neighbour's judgement and God's expectation. A women's life is presented as stuck in a passive loop enforced by the society and the politicians. The repeated mantra echoes itself and merges into a crowd, noise, chaos. The quiet weakness becomes the loud speech and strength.

Hear women's voices suffering as a result of abortion ban in Poland and Ireland.

---- context----

15th of April 2020, 21st Century, Pandemic.

The men in Polish government have the right to own women's bodies to the point that in the midst of pandemic and one of the most authoritarian lockdowns in Europe, pull out the abortion ban back onto the legislation table. No protests or gatherings are allowed on the streets.

Composition is a tribute to Black Protests (opposing the abortion ban) that were carried out across Poland in recent years, which are heavily sampled as broken shouts. Another sampling source are recordings of documentaries featuring women protesting, and psychologically struggling with the aftermath of the Eighth Amendement in Ireland.
This piece specifically resonates with the recent abortion law introduction in US.

Features my own voices and recordings and samples of political events.
